Note to Users: Pacenote collects location data to enable real-time co-driver directions and distance tracking, even when the app is closed or not in use.

Location Data

To function as a rally navigator, Pacenote must access your device's location. This includes:

Precise Location: Used to determine your exact position on a track or route to provide accurate "pacenotes."
Background Location: We request this permission so that navigation remains active if you switch to another app or turn off your screen while driving.

Device Information

We may collect basic technical information such as device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers to help us troubleshoot bugs and optimize performance.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data strictly for the following purposes:

To calculate the distance to the next turn or hazard.
To provide audible and visual "co-driver" style cues.
To maintain a log of your "Recce" or "Run" if you choose to save your route.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share data in the following instances:

Mapping Services: We use third-party map providers (like Google Maps or Mapbox) to fetch route data. These services may receive your coordinates to calculate routes.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

Location data used for real-time navigation is generally processed on-device and is not stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to save a route or "Pacenote" profile to your account.

5. Permissions and Control

You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your Android device settings. However, please note that disabling ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION will make the app unable to provide navigation directions.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Pacenote is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
